The rapid growth in scientific knowledge reflects our relentless quest for discovery and significantly impacts economic and societal development. In educational institutions, science, technology, and innovation often originate within research environments. At School of Pharmacy, the School of Pharmacy has established a Research and Developmental Committee dedicated to creating and disseminating new knowledge across various fields. This committee fosters innovation and enhances both learning and teaching for faculty members and students, integrating these advancements into the curriculum. Research forms the bedrock of knowledge, invigorating academic energy, building state-of-the-art facilities, promoting research publications, developing collaborations, and forming an active community with shared objectives. Additionally, substantial evidence suggests that research supports and improves teaching, fostering excellence in this realm. Research benefits faculty members, enriches their teaching, and significantly impacts both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Increasingly, evidence shows that students gain significantly from having researchers as instructors, provided the institution balances resources and rewards between research and teaching. Recent studies consistently highlight the benefits of ‘research-led teaching,’ where researchers’ experiences are integrated into their teaching methods.
